SELECTION BOARD:
The selection board is constituted by the Commissioner of Police, Greater Chennai and shall consist of the following officers:
i. Additional Commissioner of Police – Traffic, Greater Chennai
ii. Joint Commissioners of Police – Traffic, Greater Chennai
iii. Deputy Commissioners of Police – Traffic, Greater Chennai
iv Chief Traffic Warden, Greater Chennai Unit
v. Deputy Chief Traffic Wardens, Greater Chennai Unit
No person shall be appointed as a Traffic Warden unless he/she has been recommended for appointment by the selection board.
The selection board shall have powers to reject any candidate without assigning any reasons and its decision is final.
MEDICAL CERTIFICATE:
No person shall be appointed as a Traffic Warden if he has not undergone a medical examination and submitted his fit medical certificate to the concerned Officers.
OATH:
No person shall be appointed as a Traffic Warden unless, before such appointment, such person has made and subscribed before the Chief Traffic Warder / Deputy Chief Warden, or such officer appointed by them on their behalf, an oath or affirmation in the form laid down by the Commissioner of Police (APPENDIX II)
APPOINTMENT CERTIFICATE:
A person shall, on being appointed as a Traffic Warden, receives a Certificate of Appointment in the prescribed format (APPENDIX III) on completion of the prescribed Training.
APPLICANTS TO BEAR THEIR OWN EXPENSES:
Applicant once appointed / selected as Traffic Warden needs to pay one time joining fees and an Annual Subscription payable each year to TPTWO, Apart from that he also has to bear the entire cost towards his Uniform, Accessories and any other expenses incurred during the course of his training.
INDUCTION AND TRAINING:
The Traffic Wardens on appointment shall undergo induction training for 25 hours spread over a period of 15 days. (APPENDIX IV)
The training shall be imparted by the Officers of the Traffic department delegated by the Additional Commissioner of Police - Traffic, Greater Chennai and Traffic Warden Organisation Senior Officers
No Traffic Warden shall be deployed for road duties unless he completes the induction training.
